October 9th to October 15th is Fire Prevention week. The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace smoke alarms every 10 years.”  Test your smoke detectors each month and change your batteries when you set your clocks back in the Fall and ahead in the Spring.  Make sure you also have a carbon monoxide detector in your home.  Check out the National Fire Protection Association’s website for more fire prevention tips.

Check out our Facebook Page for more tips every day during Fire Prevention Week.  Some of the posts cover setting up an escape plan and supporting your local fire company.  Make sure to thank all the firefighters for their service.  Remember most in our area are volunteers.
