Thursday November 11, 2011 marks the annual celebration of Veterans Day.  All of us at Spencer Insurance would like to thank our Veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country.  It is because of our Veterans that we enjoy the freedom we have today.

Take a moment on November 11th to think about and pray for all those veterans who served our country.  We pray for the families of the Veterans who died in service to their country. We also pray for those who were disabled.  We pray for the service men and woman who are serving today that they will be protected from any harm.  We pray for Peace!

Thank you for your service and sacrifices.

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11th each year regardless of the day of the week it falls.  Do you know why??

Although the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28th, 1919 to end World War 1, the fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.  For that reason in 1975 President Ford signed a Public Law which established November 11th as the day Veterans Day would be observed.  For more information on the history of Veterans Day go to: http://www1.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetdayhistory.asp.
